Posting instructions

To post a new article to the website, you first need to log in with your credentials. You can access the blog’s dashboard by adding /wp-admin/ at the end of the blog’s address:

There you will be asked to login with your credentials. Please use the email address to which you were sent you the invitation to join the blog when creating your WordPress account.

Then click on the “My Sites” tab on the top left corner:

Create a post

New posts should to be created as “blog posts”. Navigate through the dashboard as shown below.

Once logged in, click on “Posts” to the left side of the dashboard, and then “Add New Post”

Each post should be categorized and added tags. Both can be added on the left toolbar of post edition (see below).

Categories and tags are added in the left toolbar, under the “Document” tab.

Categories

Categories should be the type of post that you are publishing and should be unique (i.e. only one per post). Categories could be composed of

  • Guides
  • Book or article reviews
  • Databases
  • [?]

Tags

Tags, on the other hand, should describe the content of the post. It could include any possible topic. For example

  • Economics
  • Economic history
  • [field] [sub-field]
  • Internet
  • Privacy
  • Software
  • Statistics
  • etc.

Tags should help us retrieve information efficiently. Always try to assign already existing tags and avoid creating almost-the-same duplicates (e.g. “Economics” and “Econ” define the same concept, thus we do not need two different tags).

You can add as many tags to a post as you wish.

Under construction

You may want to add an [under construction] label to the title of your post if you are not yet done editing it.
